KALAMAZOO, MI -- The city of Kalamazoo has named three finalists in its search for a new city attorney, and is making plans to hold a public meeting where citizens can speak with the candidates. The city released the names of the three candidates along with their resumes as part of the City Commission agenda packet for the upcoming Monday, March 20, meeting. The three finalists (with links to their resumes) are: Aaron Leal , city attorney for the city of Royal Oak Lewis Smith , former legal counsel for Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network Ivars Steins , assistant corporation counsel at the city of Detroit At the meeting next Monday, the Kalamazoo City Commission will be asked to approve a public meet-and-greet session with the candidates at 4 p.
